Pretty in Pink: Highlighting your Pink Makeup

Almost everyone knows the basics of applying eyeshadow makeup especially, girls’ favourite shade, pink. This tutorial will help you highlight your usual pretty pink makeup to a funky smokey pink look.

Step 1:

The first step is to add a bit of brow highlight and a highlight on the inside corner of the eye. For this tutorial, we’re going to use a light pink silver color. To highlight your eye, take a nice big brush and put the color just directly under the brow. Apply a few strokes underneath the brow and on the inside corner of the eye. Apply a little bit at a time, until you get a nice highlight. This will make your eyes appear fuller and give a finished look.

Step 2:

Then, using a pencil brush, take the same color and add a little bit to the inside corner of the eye. Adding a little bit of a highlight to the inside corner of the eye is an easy but really skillful technique because it opens up your eye, brightens it, and makes it look really funky.

Step 3:

Next is to add a crease color to your pink makeup. A great technique is to add a deep purple eyeshadow. Choosing a deep purple eyeshadow will go with any of the cools, like the pinks and plums. This will go great with the pink or fuchsia color onto the crease and at the same time give it a smokey look. Using a fluffy crease brush, dip the brush right into the deep purple eye shadow palette, shake, and go right into the crease of her eye. Just take a little bit on the brush at a time. Adding too much will make it hard to get off.

Step 4:

In applying on the crease, which is the end of the eye, brush it in a sideways V and fill it in. It is recommended to not go too far in the middle. Stop toward the middle of the eye and condense it at the end so that the eye goes light to dark. Make sure it’s all blended with no harsh lines. Little by little, add more and more color, depending on how deep you want to go. If you want to make it a little more smokey, add a little bit more.
